Milo lahko dokaj hitro in enostavno izdelamo doma, vendar pa je potrebno poznavanje osnovnih zakonitosti izdelave mila in pravil varnega dela. Ko delamo naravno milo (po hladnem ali vročem postopku) namreč delamo z nevarno sestavino &#8211; natrijevim hidroksidom, zaradi česar je potrebno delati previdno.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Naravna mila so vse bolj popularna. Namesto nepoznanih kemikalij se ljudje vedno bolj obračajo k uporabi izdelkov s poznanimi in naravnimi sestavinami. Tako je vedno več izdelovalcev naravnih mil. Marsikoga pa vsa ta &#8220;naravna dobrota&#8221; doma izdelanega mila navduši do te mere, da bi namesto šampona za lase raje uporabljal naravno trdo milo. Pa je to res pametna odločitev?</p>
<p>Kot smo spoznali v <a href="http://kremica.si/kako-nastane-milo-ali-vse-o-saponifikaciji/">prispevku</a> o nastajanju naravnega mila, imajo trda mila, narejena po tradicionalni metodi, bazičen pH, ki znaša nekje med 8 in 10. Komercialni šamponi imajo pH v kislem rangu, od 4,5 pa vse tja do okoli 7. Kaj pa potrebujejo naši lasje? Če jih umivamo z bazičnimi sredstvi, se kutikula las (to je luskasta povrhnjica) ne bo zaprla in las ščitila pred izgubo vlage. To pomeni, da se bodo lasje ob dolgotrajni bazični negi izsuševali, hkrati pa bodo zaradi dvignjene povrhnjice bolj nagnjeni z vozlanju in abrazivnim poškodbam. Gre za precej resne mehanske poškodbe las, ki jih je kasneje težko odpraviti. Če si res želimo uporabljati naravno milo kot šampon za lase, potem je pametno, da umivanje las zaključimo s kislim izpiranjem. Za to lahko uporabimo redčen jabolčni kis ali katero koli drugo sredstvo, ki ima kisel pH.</p>
<p>Drug problem pri uporabi naravnih mil pa je ta, da v trdi vodi (ki jo imamo skoraj vsi Slovenci), zaradi prisotnosti apnenca, kalcija in magnezija molekule mila tvorijo netopne soli, ki jih pogosto opazimo kot &#8220;smetanaste&#8221; ostanke na kopalni kadi. Na koži to še ni tako velika težava, kot pa je na laseh, kjer se te soli nalagajo in lase puščajo na pogled mrtve, suhe in obtežene.</p>
<p>Še zadnja opazka pri zamenjavi šampona za milo pa je ta, da so naravna mila večinoma v trdi obliki in je vanje mnogo težje vmešati določene negovalne sestavine za lase. </p>
<p>Moj nasvet bi bil, da namesto naravnega mila rajši uporabljate šampon za lase, ampak izberite takšnega, ki ima nežne, naravne sestavine ter primeren pH, namesto agresivnih komercialnih šamponov. Še bolje, šampon si izdelajte doma! Recept in navodila sledijo kmalu 🙂</p>
<p>P.S. Podobno velja tudi za umivanje las s sodo bikarbono. Tudi ta ima visok pH, 1% raztopina ima približno pH 8,0, kar je v preveč bazičnem območju za lase.</p>

<p>Čisto strokovno je milo definirano kot natrijeva ali kalijeva sol maščobne kisline. Se sliši zapleteno? Sploh ni! Pripravite se za mini učno uro kemije! 🙂</p>
<p>Naravno milo nastane s kemijsko reakcijo, ki se imenuje saponifikacija ali umiljenje. Gre za reakcijo med kislino (natančneje maščobno kislino) in bazo (natrijev hidroksid &#8211; NaOH ali pa kalijev hidroksid &#8211; KOH). Ne glede na to, katere maščobe uporabimo pri izdelavi mila, vedno bodo vsebovale maščobne kisline v obliki trigliceridov. </p>

<p>Trigliceridi so molekule, ki so sestavljene iz molekule glicerola in treh molekul maščobnih kislin. Ko maščobam dodamo vodno raztopino NaOH, začne potekati <strong>reakcija umiljenja &#8211; saponifikacija</strong>. Med reakcijo 3 molekule NaOH zreagirajo z eno molekulo triglicerida in nastane ena molekula glicerola ter 3 molekule mila.</p>

<p>Skoraj dovolj kemije za danes 🙂 <br />Od izbrane baze je odvisno, ali bo naše milo trdo, ali pa bolj mehko oz. kremno. <strong>NaOH</strong> naredi <strong>trdo</strong> milo, <strong>KOH</strong> pa <strong>mehko</strong> ali celo tekoče milo.</p>
<p>Vsem naravnim milom pa je skupen pH &#8211; zaradi svojih kemijskih lastnosti imajo naravna mila <strong>vedno visok</strong> <strong>pH</strong>, ki znaša nekje med <strong>8 in 10</strong>.<strong> </strong>Kemijsko gledano gre namreč za sol močne baze (NaOH) in šibke kisline (maščobne kisline), ki ima bazičen pH. Če vemo, da ima naša koža pH 5,5 (se še spomnite reklam za pH nevtralna mila za obraz?), potem bomo kaj hitro ugotovili, da imajo mila precej neprimeren pH za kožo. Kako to, da veljajo za bolj nežno izbiro, če pa je pH neustrezen? Naravna mila resda nimajo ravno nežnega pH, vsebujejo pa druge dobrote, ki jih industrijska mila ne. Prvič, med samo reakcijo se sprošča glicerol, ki kožo vlaži in neguje, ter preprečuje njeno izsušitev. Pri industrijski pridelavi mila se glicerol večinoma odstrani. Drugič, pri izdelavi mila doma v reakcijo vedno dodamo več maščob (prebitek), kot pa jih bo zreagiralo z NaOH. S tem se poskrbi, da v milu slučajno ni ostanka nezreagiranega NaOH hkrati pa višek maščob milo naredi še bolj nežno in hranljivo. Torej, ne glede na to, kaj z milom počnete, njegov pH bo vedno visok, bazičen. Če vam kdo ponuja pH nevtralno milo, ali ne pozna kemijskih osnov, ali pa ponuja nekaj, kar ni naravno milo. V visokem pH pa se skriva tudi odgovor, zakaj milo peče, če zaide v oči. Solze v očeh imajo namreč nevtralen pH (okoli 7), visok pH mila pa je za oči dražeč. </p>
<p>Naravno milo je malce poseben domač kozmetičen izdelek. Ker med njegovim nastajanjem poteče kemijska reakcija, vhodne sestavine (maščobe, NaOH), v končanem milu niso več prisotne. To se vidi tudi na zapisu sestavin naravnega mila. Za primer vzemimo milo, narejeno le iz olivnega olja. Med njegovimi sestavinami ne boste našli ne olivnega olja (INCI: Olea europaea oil) niti NaOH (INCI: sodium hydroxide), temveč bo napisana le natrijeva sol olivnega olja &#8211; INCI: sodium olivate. </p>
<p>Različne rastlinske (pa tudi živalske) maščobe pa milu dajo različne lastnosti. Nekatera naredijo mila bolj trdna, bolj nežna, bolj mehka, bolj čistilna &#8230; O tem bomo več spregovorili v prihodnjih zapisih 🙂</p>
